Public Libraries Australia (PLA) was formed to improve advocacy for Australian Public Libraries. To be effective in this regard, PLA has been working in partnership with other library associations, including ALIA; and also with the commercial sectors and library suppliers.

PLA recognises the need to do more for public libraries at a practical and grassroots level, as is well illustrated by our National Year of Reading 2012 grants initiative, which enabled many smaller / remote library services to run their National Year of Reading programs and activities.

To advocate and service our member effectively PLA needs your feedback on your local or state issues, so keep us informed via our website contact page or directly to our Executive Officer
