About the role

Are you passionate about libraries? Are you willing to make a difference to the wellbeing of the Bathurst Community by providing high quality customer focused library services? Do you have an interest in research and providing access to information? Then this rare opportunity is for you.

As part of the implementation of the Bathurst Library 2019-2024 Strategic Plan and a team restructure, we are currently looking for a full time Information Services Team Leader to join our friendly team. In this redesigned role, you will have the opportunity to provide and foster high quality customer focused library services to the Bathurst community, with a focus on information and local studies services. You will help drive the implementation of the Bathurst Library Strategic Plan forward. You will have a key role to play in the development, curation, and promotion of the library Local Studies collections, in print and online, and will provide support and direction to the Information Services team.

This full time 35 hour per week position will include rostered weekend shifts (on average one 5 hour weekend shift every 6 weeks).

Key Requirements

  • Relevant Degree qualification with eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, or equivalent
  • At least 4 years’ experience working in a library setting or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications to the needs and level of a diverse audience
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a collaborative team
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite, digital apps and platforms, mobile devices
  • Experience in collection development
  • Drivers Licence
