About the role

  • The Librarian Circulation Services is responsible for the efficient operations of the information and customer services section, coordinating the activities in the Digital Hub, supervising the public internet service, maintaining library collections, and assisting the City Librarian in the management of the library.
  • The Salary Range for this position is $77,349.23 - $80,637.01 gross per annum plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.4% superannuation.
  • This is a permanent full-time position which will be located at the Toowoomba City Library.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

  1. Hold the mandatory qualification(s), training and/or experience, as outlined under the Success Criteria in the Position Description.
  2. Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
  3. Excellent written skills with the ability to draft correspondence and prepare reports on complex matters.
  4. Demonstrated liaison and negotiation skills.
  5. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate and timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
  6. Demonstrated excellent computer literacy skills including the capacity to effectively use the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications, and the ability to learn and demonstrate the Library Management System and new technologies for digital literacy programs.
  7. Demonstrated ability to supervise a digital literacy program that meets the changing needs of the community.
  8. Demonstrated time management skills and ability to lead, plan, organise, supervise and motivate staff to achieve set and agreed performance and service standards and meet deadlines.
