As part of the implementation of the Bathurst Library 2019-2024 Strategic Plan and following a team restructure, we are currently looking for a full time Programs Team Leader to join our friendly team. In this newly created role, you will lead a new team, the Programs team, in the delivery of innovative and inclusive programs that will assist the Bathurst community, young and old, reach its potential. You will help drive the implementation of the Bathurst Library Strategic Plan forward. You will have a key role in the library team and the opportunity to provide high quality customer focused library services to the Bathurst community, with a focus on early literacy, children, youth and seniors services, and mobile and home library services.  

This full time 35 hour per week position will include rostered weekend shifts.

Key Requirements

  • Relevant degree qualification with eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, or equivalent
  • At least 4 years’ experience working in a library setting
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications to the needs and level of a diverse audience
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a collaborative team
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
  • High level computer skills including MS Office suite, digital apps and platforms, mobile devices
  • Experience delivering library programs, especially programs for children and young adults
  • Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check
