About the National Art School

The position

The Library Assistant is responsible for keeping the library organised and efficient, whilst assisting customers as necessary on the frontline. The Library Assistant is tasked with delivering excellent customer service at the information/circulation desk including answering basic art reference queries, collection maintenance, maintaining NAS Media file, updating current awareness/ newspaper noticeboards, bibliographic checking and general data entry.  The role is a casual position and will involve some day, evening and weekend shifts.

What you bring to the role

You will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, who is familiar with current library systems, practices and procedures. You will have completed a Certificate III in Library and Information Services, and/or relevant work experience in an academic or special library.  You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and as an effective member of the Library’s small and friendly close-knit team.
