 Community Engagement Librarian (Training and Technology)

 Permanent Part Time – 20 hours per week

 Band 5 – $67,675 - $78,864 pro rata ( + 9.5% super)

If you love meeting new people and helping them connect with technology we want to hear from you. Hobsons Bay Libraries is looking for a Community Engagement Librarian who is excited to create and deliver programs to empower, connect and engage our community.

You will have an interesting and varied workload including program planning, customer service and taking a leading role in the delivery of community and staff training. You will have the drive to initiate projects and take them through to implementation, comfortable working independently or in a team.

Key duties include:

  • Plan, develop and implement innovative ways to upskill the community and staff with technology.
  • Assist customers with general and reference enquiries, particularly with technology troubleshooting.
  • Support customers in the use of PCs and other technologies, including creative technologies, social media, and online collections

The position is part time and includes regular evening shifts and reasonable overtime. While there is some room to negotiate hours availability across four days would be preferred. The successful applicant can be expected to work across all branches.

To be considered for this role you will need to be suitably qualified/experienced. Fluency in a second community language or Auslan would be an asset.

Please note that digital literacy and demonstrated experience with portable technologies are essential requirements for this role. All shortlisted applicants will be asked to undertake a technology based activity as part of the interview process.

The successful applicants will need to provide a current Working with Children Check and will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check and physical assessment.
