The City of South Perth (the City) is seeking applications from candidates to undertake the position of part time Librarian to join the Library Services Business Unit.

Located only 4kms from the Perth CBD, the City borders the stunning Swan River on its Northern and Western boundaries, and boasts excellent access to important social, commercial and leisure infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving both operational and strategic outcomes including:

  • Providing support to the Branch Librarian in the overall administration of the branch library on a day-to-day basis;
  • Delivering reference and information service to customers in addition to other library programmes, services and events;
  • Contribute to strategic outcomes, continuous improvement, and best practice as part of the Library Services team.

To be successful in this position you need to demonstrate;

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills;
  • High level of, and commitment to, customer service;
  • Ability to plan and coordinate library services/programmes/events;
  • Strong understanding of technology and software and its usage in a library environment;
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers licence;
  • Valid Working with Children Check.

This temporary part time position is a level 6 and attracts a salary range of $75,860 - $88,474 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
