Librarian - Acquisitions Support Team Leader

  • Tenure – permanent part time (21 hours per week)
  • Band 5 salary range $66,043 - $76,948 pro rata + 9.5% Superannuation
  • St Kilda Library

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Collections team at the Port Phillip Library Service, providing support to the Acquisition Librarian and Collections Senior Team Leader working in an innovative and fun environment. This is a frontline customer service role with a collection focus to help ensure that acquisition procedures are maintained.

This is a permanent part-time position at a Band 5 level (21 hours per week) that will be rostered over four days. It includes one evening shift per week and weekend shifts as part of a 3-month weekend roster cycle.

 

The position’s primary location will be the St. Kilda Library. Responsibilities include responding to library user requests, supporting the maintenance of our digital collections, and the provision of quality reader development and allied customer services in the context of a busy inner city public library.

 

This role will suit a person who is hardworking, positive and passionate about how they can contribute to the ongoing development of a quality public library collection for the communities that make up the City of Port Phillip. You should have enthusiasm for working in a highly flexible team environment and proven experience in providing excellent customer service. Some familiarity with acquisition services in a public library setting would be an advantage.
