Your new role
Join our Library Services team to support the Town in our mission to become Perth’s most empowered, engaged, inclusive and connected community.
A challenging and exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the Library Services Manager with the provision and delivery of an efficient and effective library and information service to the community.
The focus of this position will be to coordinate, develop and promote Local History services and programs as a part of total Council services to the community.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have:
- experience in developing and managing projects based on specialist skills and knowledge in Local History Services environment
- experience in initiating, developing, coordinating and implementing projects, programs and events aimed at promoting the Local History collection to the community
- demonstrated high level ability in the use and knowledge of digitisation of collections, preferably in historical collection
- experience in cataloguing digital and physical collections
- report writing skills
- degree in Library and Information, Archives Studies (or equivalent)
- previous experience in local history/archives services in a public library setting.
