Our growing Community and Regulatory Services team are a critical part of our transformation agenda, working to achieve the City Of Darwin Strategic Directives towards the year 2030. This cross-functional and diverse team identify opportunities for improvement and drive business delivery of solutions using design thinking and a dynamic approach. The team's focus is squarely on our community and staff and how we can use analytical insight to deliver value to them in an optimised and efficient way.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to make their mark. Reporting to the Manager - Casuarina Library, your objective is to design, deliver and evaluate digital literacy and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) programs in the Library section. You would be responsible for creating learning opportunities, enhancing visitor and member experience by communicating a full range of exhibitions, program and events, effectively providing education, service and support. You will also acquire, operate and maintain a range of IT equipment and software including laptops, robots, 3D printers and tech toys to establish and oversee Tech Zones in libraries.

About you

You will have knowledge of current best-practice in STEM/STEAM education and experience in coaching teachers and/or leading professional development over time. You will be organised and will use high-level communication skills to build effective working relationships and lead change with staff, students and the community. High-level innovative teaching practices, IT literacy, leadership, communication and change management skills are essential.

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Creative Technology or related field and/or relevant experience
  • Current Working with Children Card
  • Class C Drivers Licence
