Maribyrnong City Council is undergoing significant change in population growth, redevelopment, and a transitioning economy is leading to an influx of new residents, businesses and opportunities. Maribyrnong is becoming a sought after residential area and a destination for foodies.
The Maribyrnong Library Service provides high quality library services to a diverse community.
This is a senior position and as a member of the Library Leadership Team the incumbent is required to take a leadership role and oversee the development, maintenance and evaluation of Children's and Youth resources, services and programs.
The successful candidate possesses strong communication and time management skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive partnerships with key stakeholders. Experience in leading teams, particularly in Children's and Youth with a strong emphasis on delivering high quality programs and events to promote early literacy and lifelong learning, would be advantageous.
The ability to identity and develop targeted services, programs and resources that enhance the library service offering and respond to the needs of our changing communities, with a particular focus on Youth is desired.
Professional Librarian qualifications with eligibility for membership of the Australian Library and Information Association are essential for this position, as is a current Working with Children check.
