State Library of Queensland is hosting a literacy forum on 29 July exploring the economic and social impact of adult literacy and literacy programming and the role of public libraries. Anyone with an interest in literacy, economics and public libraries is encouraged to attend.  Lunch is included, and concession tickets are available for students and volunteers.

Keynote speaker Jane Caro:

Jane is a social commentator, writer and lecturer and is on the Board of the NSW Public Education Foundation.  She has appeared on Channel Seven’s Sunrise, ABC television’s Q&A and The Gruen Transfer. Jane has also co-authored What makes a good school? And The Stupid Country: How Australia is dismantling public education with Chris Bonner.

The forum will also include diverse panel presentations.
