What: Public Libraries WA 2015 Conference

Theme:  Game on! - public libraries changing to build communities

An exciting of programme with 3 exciting international speakers including:

  • Inga Lunden, Governing Board member of IFLA, City Librarian of Stockholm and Director Stockholm Public Library, Sweden which includes a central library ad 39 local libraries and an international library. Inga will provide a global perspective of library professionals leading the challenges of externally driven change through advocacy, partnerships and innovative use of resources.
  • Corinne Hill, Executive Director Chattanooga Public Library, USA and 2014 Library Journal Librarian of the Year will discuss managing disruptive change as a part of normal business and fostering a culture of change and innovation.
  • Rachel Van Riel, Director Opening the Book Ltd, UK on provide insights into creating customer centred libraries and keeping libraries relevant in a changing world.

In addition Bernard Salt, compelling speaker, demographer, futurist Leading Australian social commentator talk about past and future demographics in Western Australia to enable better understanding and service planning to better meet local community needs.
