Access and Engagement Librarian

Permanent Part Time – 28 hours per week (flexible)

Band 5 – $76,910.76 - $89,109.06 per annum (pro-rata) + super

Yarra Libraries is seeking an experienced librarian to join their team and help deliver a range of programs designed to increase engagement and improve access to library services. We are looking for community-minded collaborators who champion diversity and are committed to reducing barriers for marginalised community members. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of library services, programs and events that support and promote diversity and inclusion, lifelong learning, reader development and literacy (including author talks, workshops, and cultural events),
  • Actively engaging with community groups and local organisations to position the library service as a partner of choice,
  • Providing exceptional customer service responding to general information enquiries and proactively assisting members in using library services and resources,
  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of our library branches (including shelving, circulation and collection maintenance as directed),
  • Conducting administrative duties including invoicing, preparing program documentation and conducting evaluations.

Although based at Collingwood Library, this role is expected to work across all five library branches and other service points throughout the week, including evenings and weekends as required. This role may be required to work one-in-four Saturday mornings.
