Exciting opportunity to join the second largest municipality in Melbourne’s metropolitan west. Located about 20 kms from the central business district, Brimbank City Council is culturally diverse.

We are currently seeking Casual Library Officers (band 4) to temporarily join our team across Brimbank Libraries.

About Brimbank Libraries

Brimbank Libraries is a dynamic public library service in Melbourne’s western suburbs delivering a range of services and programs to the community to support lifelong learning, literacy and community development.

Libraries are based at Deer Park, Keilor, St Albans, Sunshine and Sydenham.

Our casual staff team provides proactive excellent customer service to all library users.

About the role

Work with a great team of staff who are committed to providing exceptional services to our community.

Your responsibilities include providing face to face customer service responding to customer needs in a timely manner. This can range from managing general queries, assisting customer use of technology, general library tasks including shelving and tidying and helping customers find a great book to read!

Hours are worked on an as needs basis backfilling staff absences. You may work at any of our five libraries across seven days per week including evening shifts.

About You

This is a perfect opportunity for someone wishing to start a career in libraries including those who have commenced library studies

Experience in other environments transferrable into a library setting are ideal.
