This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to library patrons by answering enquiries, providing information about collections, programs and services, and assisting with technology and digital literacy.

About the Opportunity:

An opportunity has become available to join the Library and Family Services team as Community and Customer Liaison Assistant in a permanent capacity.

You will play an important function in the Library team by providing ‘hands on' support to customers through assisting library users with general enquiries, use of technology and by assisting them in finding resources.

The successful applicant will be responsible to maintain the order of library collection through shelving, sorting and shelf reading to ensure all works performed are in accordance with standard operating procedures.

You should hold:

  • a NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence

The successful applicant must be flexible and adaptable to working in various work locations throughout the municipality as needed to perform the role effectively, including at multiple library locations, and participate in staff rotations and work weekends. Hours of work are 4 hours per day usually between the hours of 1pm and 6pm, Monday to Friday, plus weekend shifts.

This position has a base salary of pro-rated $65,106 per annum + superannuation. We also offer generous benefits such as 6 weeks annual leave and 15 personal/carer days.
