An exciting opportunity is available in our Cultural Services Branch for an experienced Coordinator Library Services on a full-time permanent contract.  

The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of an innovative library service including overseeing the operational requirements of running the library and ensuring the provision and growth of a broad range of diverse library programs and events, including the Shaun Tan Award for Young Artists and the Tim Winton Award for Young Writers.

The requirements for this position include:

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Studies or related discipline
  • Experience in managing a library service and in delivering a suite of innovative library programs
  • Supervisory experience including experience fostering strong and collaborative team cultures
  • Highly developed and proven interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in reviewing, developing and updating policies, procedures and work practices to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery
  • Sound knowledge of cataloguing and classification tools and library management systems
  • Sounds knowledge of collection development, stock selection principles and common reference tools

You must have the ability to work outside of normal office hours as required.

Salary range: $94,500 - $97,125  plus up to 10.5% employer superannuation and an additional 4% employer co-contribution to superannuation, 5 weeks annual leave, free gym membership, sustainable travel allowance or a parking permit, a rostered day off per month and a range of health and wellbeing benefits.
