About the Opportunities
Customer Service Representative - Libraries (1 x 0.5FTE permanent and 1x 0.6FTE fixed term until May 2024)
As a customer service representative (libraries), you will provide excellent service to all customers by being warm, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. You will enrich our customers experience by providing positive, meaningful and relevant choices, suggestions and referrals. You will undertake accurate and timely processing and maintenance of our collections. Various tasks within this role include, but are not limited to assisting customers with borrowing, returning and selecting items, delivering programs and supporting customers in using the Virtual Library and digital technologies.
Customer Service Representative – Libraries and Community Centres (3x casual positions)
Build strong community connections and create experiences that spark wonder, celebrate art and culture, challenge conventional thinking and inspire lifelong learning including your own. In this casual role, you will work independently and as part of a broader team to shape welcoming and inclusive spaces for everyone in the community to belong and thrive.
You will enrich our customers experience by providing positive, meaningful and relevant options, choices, suggestions and referrals, whether it’s in person, over the phone or electronically. You will also complete various tasks such as collection maintenance, program support, cash handling, room booking support and processing of payments.
*Please note that casual customer service representatives will also need to be available to work across multiple City of Adelaide community centres.
Some of the day-to-day things you may see yourself doing include:
- Delivering a program such as Family Storytime, LEGO Club, Roaming Robot
- Taking our Library Trike Out and About in the City and talk to people about our library and community centre services
- Contributing to our library collection by selecting new items and helping customers to find their next read
- Assisting people assist customers with e-books, accessing public computers and navigating government online services
- Introducing people to new technologies such as 3D printing, Virtual Reality
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in delivering a high level of customer satisfaction in a customer service environment is essential.
- Sound knowledge of the role of the Public Library within the community.
- Experience supporting customers with using computers, email and the internet.
- Experience in the delivery of Library and Community services or programs.
- Previous experience in automated library systems and library services and knowledge or understanding of the Public Library Service Network in SA.

Please be advised that the part-time permanent and fixed term parental leave cover opportunity until May 2024 has a starting salary at the Level 2 Classification commencing at $66,794 (pro rata) + 10.5% superannuation.
Please be advised that the casual positions have a starting pay at $34.25 per hour + 25% casual loading + 10.5% superannuation.
