About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader Library Operations, the Digital Services Supervisor is responsible for leading a small yet high-performing team of digital experts including facilitating recruitment, training, development & performance of the team.

The successful incumbent will manage technology requirements within libraries and solve problems as they arise in line with service timeframes. As a requirement of the role, you will contribute to routine & ad hoc reporting, data analysis and interpretation as well as explore, identify & endorse process and technology improvements relevant to the branch.

The team under your leadership will also investigate, identify and recommend emerging technologies and or alternative approaches critical to the design and delivery of responsive library and heritage services. A primary accountability of this role is the coordination of IT support for libraries along with specialist input on specification, implementation and maintenance of corporate systems and software. You will provide expert advice and leadership, ensuring your team are upskilled in technology advancements as well as cultivate inter and intra-team relations to stimulate collaboration.

About you

You are tertiary qualified in Librarian and Information Science, IT, Community Development or similar. Coupled with your formal training is previous experience in a similar role with Library systems or equivalent. A natural leader, you are exceptional in building strong teams and fostering positive culture aligned with company values. You are adept in project management, developing plans, coordinating actions and managing budgets. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in persuasive communication, active listening and consultation are essential to success. A solution-oriented individual, you possess superb problem solving abilities to diagnose challenges and instigate solutions. Your capability to prepare professional business documentation including reports, presentations and project, planning and policy papers will be highly utilised in this role.
