Permanent full time (35 hours per week)

As part LMCC’s Arts, Culture & Tourism (ACT) team, the Learning and Digital Officer creates and delivers a range of holistic programs, education sessions and events for our community to enjoy.  

The Officer will be collaborating with other teams across ACT, other departments across Council and with volunteers, to lead and support the development, implementation and evaluation of adult learning, literacy and digital programs and events for the community that align with the strategic vision of the Department through the Arts, Heritage and Cultural Plan.

The Officer is also responsible for the local and visiting author program ‘Write Here’, an annual writing festival and contributes to the delivery of ACT and LMCC events, exhibitions and cultural festivals. The role looks to support adult and over 55’s engagement with our various public facilities including libraries, theatres and community venues through experiences in areas including literacy, technology, music, culture, history, and performing arts.   

The position is based at LMCC’s Administration Building located in Speers Point, NSW, with travel across facilities across Lake Mac – a current Drivers Licence is an essential requirement. When working from an ACT Facility, you may be involved in front of house duties. The position operates on a 9-day fortnight spanning with some shift or weekend work across Monday-Sunday with hours of work between the hours of 8am-9pm. The position also requires a current WWCC for paid employment.

LET’S DESCRIBE YOU

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated professional with Tertiary qualifications in Library/Information Science/ Mature Age Services/Social Sciences or equivalent.

You will need to have demonstrated skills and experience in planning, implementing and evaluating learning programs for adult and over 55’s audiences and in project management or coordination of small-scale events or festivals.

Your passion for community engagement and technological knowhow will see you thrive in the role and will support you in developing exciting and interactive learning and digital programs that offer educational and culturally immersive experiences for adult and over 55’s Audiences.

Your adaptable and approachable style coupled with excellent interpersonal skills will support you in coordinating a dedicated team of volunteers in the delivery of digital learning experiences. You hold a current working with children check and you will be you be flexible in the ability to undertake after hours and weekend work as required.
