About the role

As a Library Makerspace Officer, you will be part of Digital Experience team, and will be responsible for supporting patrons in the Ipswich City Council Makerspaces.  Your focus will be on supporting the customer experience within the Makerspaces and creating a fun and supportive environment.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the delivery of an intuitive, engaging experience of the Makerspaces for patrons of all ages
  • Ensuring technology in the Makerspaces are running effectively and troubleshooting accordingly
  • Assisting Patrons with use of equipment within the Makerspace and providing coaching sessions around 3D Printing and modelling

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An excellent fit with our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership
  • Substantial interpersonal skills including experience in engaging with customers in a learning through practice environment
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or substantial experience to carry out the range of duties required
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve through providing options and solutions with a planned approach to issue resolution
  • A current Queensland “C” class driver’s licence
  • Working with Children Check – issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card
  • A pre-employment medical will be required for this role due to the manual handling tasks required

This is a casual position, Level 3 with a salary package commencing at $74,497 pro-rata ($47.14 per hour) plus superannuation of up to 10.5%.
