Full Time Permanent Position

 35-hour week including a regular evening and 1:4 Saturday mornings

Salary Range $65,365 to $69,299 per annum + 10.5% Super + RDO

The Opportunity

Melton City Libraries is seeking an enthusiastic, vibrant, and energetic staff member to join the team. In this dynamic and newly created role you will be delivering high quality customer service, as well as providing administration support to ensure that library operations and resource management is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality customer service across the library service or access points, ensuring customers have a positive experience characterised by active engagement.
  • Create a welcoming experience by proactively engaging with customers throughout the library to maximise their use of the facility, resources, equipment, technology and online platforms.
  • Financial administration duties including general purchasing, invoice processing and payment reconciliation.
  • Assist with the preparation of statistical reports and analysis, using the Library Management System, creating and maintain Excel spreadsheets and electronic resources to meet performance measurement requirements

About you

 To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Post-secondary qualification acceptable for technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association together with experience, or lesser qualification together with relevant public library
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to confidently and actively engage with customers.
  • Demonstrated computer and information technology skills with the ability to provide assistance and resolve issues in the use of computers, photocopiers, wireless internet access and mobile devices.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with staff across the organisation, and work together towards effective outcomes in a team environment.
  • Current valid Victorian driver’s licence and current working with children’s check.
