About the role

As Library Programs Officer you will be part of the Ipswich Libraries Programs team which is responsible for the development, delivery and promotion of high quality and inclusive library programs and initiatives that support literacy, learning and connection across the Ipswich region. We are seeking a collaborative, proactive and enthusiastic staff member to join this creative and supportive team. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the development, implementation and promotion of a diverse suite of library programs, events and initiatives
  • Demonstrating a customer focussed approach and strive for excellence, innovation and engagement with emergent technologies
  • Providing dynamic and professional program delivery across Ipswich Libraries branches and diverse outreach locations
  • Effectively engaging with, and presenting to, community members and groups of all ages, abilities and backgrounds in physical and online environments.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An excellent fit with our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership
  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Library and Information Studies or relevant qualification and/or substantial experience to carry out the range of duties required
  • A current Queensland “C” class driver’s licence
  • Working with Children Check – Issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card
  • The ability to be resilient, agile and a supportive team member 
  • A passion for community engagement with individuals and groups of all ages.

A medical is required with the attributes to undertake a range of manual handling tasks which may include setting up for events, moving trolleys, loading and unloading vehicles and driving a range of Council’s vehicles.

This is a permanent full-time position, Level 4 with a salary package commencing at $82,260 plus superannuation of up to 12.25%
