The Wagga Wagga City Library is entering into an exciting period where we are expanding and increasing our services to the community. These services will be delivered at both the Civic Centre and as part of a new agile library service to the suburban neighbourhoods and village communities across the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area.

As a result, we are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our dynamic team offering high quality customer service.

What we will offer you:

  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Remuneration of $2,123.58 gpf with the opportunity to progress to $2,548.30 superannuation.
  • Commencing on Monday, 16 May 2022. 

Your new role:
This position is responsible for ensuring the provision of quality customer service to Library clients and assisting in the delivery of library programs to identified client groups.

Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Providing high level advice and support to customers with information and technology enquiries including catalogue searching, word processing, printing, internet, email and social media.
  • Providing a high-level reader advisory service to customers on a wide range of literary genres, current authors, and age-related reading materials.
  • Undertaking circulation desk duties including processing borrowings and returns, library memberships and cash handling as well as maintaining library shelves and re-shelving returned items.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Relevant library experience and knowledge of a wide range of genres, current authors, and age-related reading materials.
  • Demonstrated passion for working in a team environment; and
  • Great communication, customer service skills and highly organised.
