Looking for a new full-time opportunity in Library Services to use your specialist Library Information Technology (IT) expertise? The Shire’s libraries provide a wide range of services to our community, including public internet PC and Wi-Fi access, printing, technology training, events, workshops, literacy programs and the lending of over 130,000 physical and digital resources each year.  We have an exciting opportunity for a Library Technician who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the vital technologies that support these services and provide strategic input on Library IT development.

This role requires you to develop library IT services procedures, administer automated library systems and library IT hardware and software.  Specialist knowledge and ability to effectively trouble-shoot and problem-solve within library technology and computer services is vital.  You will play an essential role in supporting the Manager Library Services to achieve key Library Services objectives, in a modern and continuously changing library environment.  You will also mentor others in developing their IT skills and be part of a highly motivated team that provides an excellent public library service.

A degree or professional qualification in Library Technology or Library and Information Studies is essential, or evidence of Library Technology or Library and Information Studies in progress.  Previous experience as a Library Technician or similar will be highly regarded.  You will have the opportunity to contribute your knowledge and ideas, develop your career, continuously learn new skills, and explore cutting edge technologies.  If you are passionate about using your skills to support our diverse community, please apply now, we look forward to receiving your application.
