  • Salary $83,082.48 - $96,375.76 p/a + super 
  • Permanent full-time position – 35 hours per week

About the role

Do you have a passion for technology? Ku-ring-gai Library is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic professional to co-ordinate, manage and implement Information Technology across the Library Network, and ensure that we are up to date on technology developments.

Day to day duties will include oversight of the Library Management System and public access computers, provide IT support for library staff and customers, liaising and negotiating with all system suppliers and Council Information Technology staff, as well as the implementation and review of the Library Technology plan and the preparation of statistics reports. The position has a strategic role in planning for the delivery of customer-focused technology to meet the needs of the library and Ku-ring-gai community.

Your previous experience in automated systems and your commitment to customer service will ensure your success in this role. 

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Library Futures & Technology Coordinator, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with Council IT for optimum use of the Library Management System and other library-oriented technologies.
  • Assisting with the coordination, management, and implementation of Information Technology across the Library Network.
  • Providing technical and practical support to internal and external customers relating to systems issues, connectivity, and content training.
  • Liaising with external contractors/vendors to ensure standard and quality of services are maintained.
  • Evaluating and implementing of new technology and eService’s that will enhance community access to resources.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree or Tertiary qualification in Information Technology
  • Demonstrated interest, experience, and expertise in the application of technology for the delivery of high-level community focussed services including digital technology, personal technology devices and corporate systems
  • Demonstrated high level project management experience, including successful delivery of major technology change projects
  • Proven ability to evaluate and implement new technology and services, including change management and procedure development
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Current Working with Children Check (for Paid workers)
