Library Technology Support Officer

Reference Number: 2024-75 | Closing Date: 11-09-2024 | Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (up to 12 months)

Temporary full time - up to 12 months

Salary: $2,747 to $3,073 per fortnight (based on 70 hours per fortnight) plus superannuation and a nine day fortnight

Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience.

About us

Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.

About the role

The Library Technology Support Officer role is part of the Technology and Resource Section and will support customers and staff across the broad range of technology services and facilities available throughout the library network. The responsibilities include support for the print and copy services, public computers, the library book locker, AV equipment and digital collections. The role also involves provision of training for staff and involvement in Discovery Space activities with the public as needed.

About you

This position requires an enthusiastic, customer focused professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of technologies which impact on library services including e-services, apps, print and copy services and content management systems.  Experience in trouble shooting technical problems, along with well developed analytical and organisational skills, and high attention to detail are essential in this role

Completion of a Diploma in Library and Information accepted by the Australian Library and Information Association for technical membership is an essential qualification for the position.
