Senior Library Officers (x3)

The City of Parramatta is going through unprecedented change and transformation as it becomes Sydney’s Central City. Three newly created full-time positions
These positions are responsible for providing positive customer experiences and supporting the Branch Librarian or Team Leader to ensure the smooth running of library services. Created to assist in the provision of high-quality customer experiences, these roles are located at Epping Library, Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library, and the new innovative Parramatta Library (PHIVE).  

Daily you will:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and build positive connections with the local community
  • Deliver high quality community-focussed programs
  • Support and train team members in the use of library services
  • Work closely with other teams and implement improvements to enhance enjoyment of the library

About You

  • Recognised qualifications in Information Science/Librarianship, or relevant experience
  • Working with Children Check
  • Criminal History Check


You’ll have experience providing engaging customer service and enjoy engaging proactively with the community.  In addition to your solutions-focussed approach, you’ll bring a track record of delivering a range of customer experiences, and willingness to give innovative ideas a go.


Well-developed planning, organisation and time management skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines and balance competing priorities.

Demonstrated customer service skills, with exceptional ability to deliver memorable experiences.

Well-developed conflict resolution skills, with a focus on de-escalation and win-win outcomes.

Well-developed PC literacy, including skills with mobile technologies and basic technology trouble shooting skills.
What’s on offer  

We are offering an attractive total remuneration: Base salary $74,228 to $81,746, plus super
