We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join the Community and Cultural Services team at Canterbury-Bankstown Council as the Team Leader Library Acquisitions and Collections.

The purpose of this position is to provide direction and support to a team of 5 staff, to manage and coordinate collection development processes across 9 branch libraries and to efficiently manage supplier contracts, ensuring quality standards and appropriate budget expenditure. 

The ideal candidate will have degree qualifications in Library Science or a related discipline, extensive experience in collection development and management and experience in a supervisory role across library or cultural service facilities.

The position is full time, 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday with the possibility of requiring a minimum of two nights per week.  Library staff are required to wear a uniform, which will be provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

•Manage and coordinate collection development processes, including selection, ordering, and deselection, across all sections of the library; 
•Provide expert advice, support and guidance to staff to ensure collections remain customer focused and are well used;  
•Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality standards and effective budget expenditure.
