Casual Library Customer Service Officer

About the role:

An opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced Customer Service Officer to join our Library Services Team. The successful applicant must be willing to work at any of Council's Libraries. This is a great development opportunity for a candidate who has already started on their Library career either through working in a library or undertaking study and is now looking to further their library experience.


  • We operate seven days a week, times vary as rostered

Duties include:

  • Day to day operations in the Library as rostered
  • Process a range of applications, transactions and payments for both Council and Library
  • Resolve customer enquiries and complaints on a range of Library services within agreed guidelines
  • Participate in a range of Library marketing and outreach activities targeting customers from diverse cultures and age groups

About you:

To be considered for this role you will be an experienced customer service officer and will possess:

  1. HSC or equivalent
  2. Current Class C Drivers Licence
  3. Experience in a high volume, fast paced customer focused service environment
  4. Proven experience in the use of technology for service delivery
  5. Experience in dealing with challenging customer interactions
  6. Experience dealing with diverse cultures and age groups

Position details:

Casual role, Position Number T13500, Salary: Circa/from $42 per hour (including casual loading) + Superannuation + Other Benefits
