Permanent Full Time - 38 hour week (flexible) 

Band 7 - $98,702 - $110,353 + Super + RDO

Yarra Libraries sits within the Community Wellbeing Directorate and is responsible for the provision and management of public library services to the community, through five static libraries at Carlton, Collingwood, Fitzroy, North Fitzroy and Richmond and a virtual presence at

The Coordinator Library Development and Marketing is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and support to the Library Management team to ensure that the most effective and efficient services are delivered to the Yarra community. A key focus of the incumbent is to ensure the outputs of the Programming, Outreach and Marketing teams remain relevant and innovative, lead the strategic development of customer focused, innovative and effective service consistent with the strategic goals and objectives of Yarra Libraries to ensure the services continued position as an industry leader and strategically manage the development and operation of community engagement initiatives through the development of strategies, frameworks and policies that support community development and lifelong learning.

This position is a crucial part of the Library Management Team and you will: 

  • Contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures and plans relevant to library operations, marketing and promotion, and strategic partnerships provisioning or supporting services and programs for Yarra Libraries.
  • Develop and implement a robust evaluation framework offering ROI and impact analysis of Yarra Libraries’ programs and service delivery.
  • Actively participate in research and maintain an awareness of social planning principles and engagement of local communities.
  • Support the appropriate consultation, participation and feedback from the community in the development of policies and strategies relating to community initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and continually review Yarra Libraries’ strategies, frameworks, policies and procedures to ensure that they meet the requirements of the community and industry best practice.
