This role sits within our Cultural Services Department, which includes Galleries, Museums, Libraries, Heritage and Arts and Cultural Activation. Cultural Services aim to provide engaging leisure and learning experiences by connecting people to resources and each other. We strive for excellence when delivering exhibitions, information, collections, programs and spaces for our community and visitors. Our department employs approximately 220 staff over 16 venues throughout the region.

About our opportunity

We are currently seeking a Library Program and Engagement Officer to join our team at North Lakes!

In this role, you will plan and implement library programs and initiatives to address local and regional community needs, across our 10 library branches! To deliver optimal customer outcomes, you will also develop and maintain positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and community organisations.

As a dedicated member of our team, you will actively contribute to building and sustaining a high performing team environment and enhance the skills, knowledge and capacity of our library team members, with a focus on sharing relevant programming and engagement knowledge.

Note: This permanent part time role is 18 hours per week and this position requires the successful team member to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days per week as part of the ordinary hours.  

About you

We are looking for a team member who is passionate about quality customer service and innovative library programs including STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics)!

You will be experienced and knowledgeable in public library service delivery including, a strong understanding of the diverse community needs and a high-level of expertise in library program development.

You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to engage constructively and build relationships with a suite of internal and external parties.

To be able to work within the library, it is essential you hold a Qld Working with Children Blue Card and therefore you will be asked this question in your application.

The Details

Term: Permanent Part-time

Please note: this permanent part-time role is 18 hours per week (Wed, Thurs, Fri). There will be a requirement for the successful applicant to be available any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours, to cover business needs.  

Location: North Lakes  

Award/Level: Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 5 of the Moreton Bay Regional Council EBA4 Certified Agreement

Remuneration: $46.31 per hour + Super + Leave Loading
