About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Library Systems Support Specialist to join Woollahra Libraries on a full-time basis.

As the Library Systems Support Specialist, you will be required to manage the operation and maintenance of all library systems and associated technologies across all Library service points.

You will provide IT support and training for library staff and customers, liaise with system suppliers and Council Information Technology staff, prepare statistics as required, implement new technology, manage small IT projects and assist with implementation of Library Technology Plan. Additionally, you will also be required to work a number of library customer service 'floor shifts' throughout the week. 

About you

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, innovative professional with exceptional IT skills to assist with the co-ordination of Information Technology across all Library service points.

Essential Criteria

  • University qualifications in Information Technology and/or Information Studies or Information and Knowledge Management (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in systems implementation and vendor management.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems support including troubleshooting of PC hardware, software and other peripherals.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to review work processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work independently and to manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge and skills in data extraction, manipulation and statistical analysis.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver training to staff and customers in the use of technology.
  • An enthusiastic and engaging approach to providing excellent customer service.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills including report writing and social media.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role as outlined in section eight (8) of the position description.
  • Current C Driver’s Licence.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in public libraries and /or experience in supporting a Library Management System and library related technologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of reporting software e.g. Crystal Reports.
  • Working knowledge of current and innovative technology trends that can be applied to a library environment.
