Campbelltown City Library is entering an exciting new phase with a rapidly growing community and new interim Library location opening 2024 and planning underway for a brand new City library. We are seeking a community focused library officer who is passionate about digital equity and supporting our community to achieve great things through technology.

Reaching digital equity will require a whole of community solution. The Library is uniquely resourced to provide access, information, and support to members of our community who are already doing amazing work in the digital literacy and access space, as well as directly helping individuals seeking support. Along with the Technology Team Leader and Digital Services Librarian, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of technology and digital services across four library locations and though Library Unplugged our outreach eVan. The role will support Library operations technology and provide customer facing digital offerings. 

The Library Technology Officer will play a pivotal role in assisting the Library team with the library’s technology, equipment, and infrastructure and the delivery of services and programs to the community.

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Library Officer, Technology Support to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity. In this role, as part of the Library Technology team, you will work with Library staff, Council’s ICT team and the community to ensure library technology is up to date, functional and meet the needs of the community

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

  • High level customer service skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • TAFE Diploma Library and/or Information Technology.
  • A current class C driver’s license.
  • Strong technology and computer skills.
  • Experience in working in customer service based environment with the ability to work as part of a diverse team.
  • A valid working with children check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination or Medical Contraindication Certificate upon commencement.
