Library Weekend Team Leader

A bit about the role

Reporting to the Coordinator Library Operations, the Library Weekend Team Leader will be responsible for the effective delivery of library services on weekends, providing support for the five branch library team leaders and weekend staff to ensure that visitors to the Library receive the same high level of service as weekday visitors. 

To be successful in this role you will provide a positive library experience to the community, using your ability to engage with a diverse customer base as well as your sound judgement, knowledge and discretion to make decisions within the context of the library service. 

This position is a job share arrangement, therefore the successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends across Saturdays 9.30am – 4.00pm and Sundays 1.00pm – 5.00pm.

What you’ll deliver

  • Leadership support to branch Team Leaders and weekend library staff
  • A high level of customer service to the community on weekends
  • Excellent IT services and support to the community
  • Regular Weekend report to the Library Operations Team
  • A positive contribution to the successful operation of the Wyndham City Library Service

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive library experience
  • Tertiary qualification in a Library related degree or diploma or other relevant qualifications
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Your ability to handle customer feedback and deal with situations appropriately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • An employee Working With Children Check
  • A positive, curious and flexible attitude
