The City of South Perth (the City) is seeking applications from candidates to undertake the position of Local History Officer to join the Library Services Business Unit.

The City’s talented workforce prides itself on delivering excellent service to the community, and is a unique and vibrant Western Australian municipality. Located only 4kms from the Perth CBD, the City borders the stunning Swan River on its Northern and Western boundaries, and boasts excellent access to important social, commercial and leisure infrastructure.

Located at The Old Mill, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the conservation and interpretation of one of Western Australia’s most important heritage sites. They will provide outstanding customer service, administrative support and volunteer management. This is a part time permanent position and the successful candidate would be required to work Wednesdays 10am to 4pm and Thursdays 12pm to 4pm.

To be successful in this position you need to demonstrate;

  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent
  • Experience in a customer focused role
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound computer literacy skills, experience with MS Office
  • Public speaking skills
  • Sound organisational skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing work situations and environments
  • Ability to work independently
  • Current Working with Children check

This permanent part time position is a level 3 position that attracts a salary range of $59,761 - $70,633 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
