About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Collections and Library Systems Manager to manage our Library Collections team and services including online electronic resources. The role will have accountability on how we maximise the use of Library Management systems for productivity and efficiency gains including rollout out of new functionality across the business. You will manage the provision of collections, digital resources and the supply contracts for YPRL to ensure our continued position as a leading provider of library services.
You will regularly liaise with suppliers and other internal and external stakeholders and will draw on your experience and knowledge to develop innovative community focused collection services and programs to encourage a love of reading and promote local history.
You will also contribute to the development of strategy, policy and reporting and manage the selection and acquisition of library materials to ensure continuous improvement and library business development within YPRL and the Technology and Assets Department.
About You
You have a genuine passion for library services and understand their role within communities. Your broad knowledge of collections management and demonstrated experience providing advice on collections development and innovation is complimented by tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and eligibility for associate membership of ALIA.
Your experience in Library management system functionality deployment and managing projects will be highly regarded.
You have demonstrated skills in the development, implementation and review of collections and technology policies and practices. You also have well developed interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams and have a commitment to future and emerging technologies to improve and enhance library services.
Your leadership skills will foster and promote a customer focused team to lead and motivate to meet the high standards and organisational objectives.
