About the team

The Library and Information Services business unit is responsible for providing services and programs to meet the educational, information, cultural and recreational needs of the community.  We provide expertise in library and digital information services, strive for excellent customer service, and actively collaborate with other teams to achieve the Town’s priorities.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Community Development the Senior Librarian oversees the operations of the Library and Information Services to ensure a responsive, high quality and efficient service that is relevant to the needs of the Town and its residents.  The role is responsible for the supervision of Library staff and the development and implementation of policies, programs and plans that meet the needs of the community and the Town’s priorities.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent qualifications/ experience in Librarianship or similar discipline with eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (essential).
  • Experience in the supervision of staff and rostering to cover services.
  • Experience in developing policies, plans and programs in a similar service.
  • Current Working with Children Check (to be renewed every three years).

Salary and Benefits

This full-time, permanent position attracts a salary of $87,641.64 to $92,621.99 per annum plus superannuation.

The Town also offers up to 5% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.

Working Hours

The position is full-time, 38 hours per week.
