An exciting leadership opportunity is now available within the Community Services team. As Team Leader Library & Community you will take the lead responsibility for the efficient operation, supervision and coordination of the Shire’s libraries through fostering an environment of teamwork and positive work practices, to ensure a high level of customer service is provided and organisational objectives are achieved. This position will appeal to candidates who desire to foster an environment of teamwork and positive work practices whilst ensuring a high-level quality service is delivered to the library services across the Shire of East Pilbara.

The successful candidate will have or be currently progressing towards a Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Management and have experience working in Libraries. To be considered for this role candidates will need to demonstrate well developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, possess initiative and the ability to work unsupervised within a small team environment.

You will be:

  • Substantial (and continuing) progress towards the completion of a recognised degree in Library & Information Management;
  • Demonstrated experience working in a library;
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff;
  • Sound customer service and interpersonal skills;
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and
  • negotiation skills;
  • Highly developed computer and technology skills;
  • Exposure to business administration and activities;
  • Ability to read, understand and apply legislation and accreditation standards relevant to libraries;
  • Highly proven self-management, time management and organisational skills;

Remuneration and Benefits:

  • Salary range between $67,052.44 and $79,195.20 (the Shire is currently conducting market reviews of pay rates); plus
  • Subsidised Accommodation provided or Living Allowance of up to $20,000; plus
  • Additional 5% Employer Superannuation Contribution (subject to Employee Contribution); plus
  • Relocation expenses up to $15,000.00; plus
  • Annual Uniform Subsidy/provision; plus
  • Parental Leave, eligibility for Long Service Leave and Professional Development.
