About the Role
In a region striving to be Healthy, Smart and Creative, it is necessary for services to facilitate this vision. Our Arts, Heritage and Libraries Branch actively provides a Community Service which educates and advocates for creativity. The Team Leader, Library Operations, Digital and Collection Services is an exciting leadership position supporting the Coordinator Library Services. The Team Leader Operations will lead and manage a region-wide programme to develop and transform library services, and enable the active participation of all areas of Libraries in service development and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will oversee core service delivery across the Sunshine Coast Library network including eight libraries and two mobile and outreach services. The position also leads the Digital Services and Collections Services teams which provide service wide network and IT services and look after the procurement, selection and integration of all physical and eResources for customer use.
In an average day, as a member of the leadership team, you will provide region-wide leadership and management for key library projects and activities including:
- The development of internal and external partnerships, networks and communications which transform library service delivery and drive business improvement
- The delivery of strategic goals that achieve library network transformation
- Oversight of the management of libraries’ budget and support for staff with operational budget responsibilities
A natural leader, you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior level in a Library environment, and Tertiary qualifications in Library Science, Community Development, Management or similar fields. You will be a successful driver of change with outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills in the areas of leadership, project delivery, continuous improvement, building teams and consultation. Your ability to effectively apply soft skills to resolve staff and customer issues and meet changing needs is pivotal to this position. Additionally, your verbal and written communication skills are highly developed enabling you to to prepare reports, planning documents and presentations with demonstrated aptitude in the use of relevant computer applications.
