An opportunity to work within a supportive and progressive team and drive contemporary collections and access services for our community. 

We’re looking for a dynamic, professional, and experienced library coordinator who understands contemporary collections and outreach services, thrives on leading and coordinating the work of a small team, and is able to build strong relationships and support active engagement with internal and external stakeholders to optimise community outcomes. 

This diverse role will see you deliver effective library and access services, including overseeing the home library program, developing library collections in accordance with existing policy, and upholding catalogue maintenance to support community reading, information and learning needs within the region. Your positive, empathetic, and methodical nature will be key in the development of library collections and home library services that contribute to the promotion of learning, community strengthening and social interaction. 

To be successful you will need: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in library/information studies and/or knowledge and experience in contemporary library services, including an understanding of collection development and maintenance processes. 
  • Capability and experience in leading and coordinating a small team through modelling inspiring leadership. 
  • Experience in the provision of high-quality customer service. 
  • Ability to network, interact and engage with people with varying backgrounds within our community. 
  • Highly attentive to detail with the ability to produce accurate work. 
  • Seamless administration practice, time management skills and the drive to continuously improve processes.

This is a full-time, 12-month fixed term (parental leave backfill) position offered at General Officer Level 5 ($92,697 - $96,684 p.a.) under our Enterprise Agreement 2022. Essential position requirements 

  • This position requires you to hold and provide evidence of a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
