How this position will make a difference to the City of Parramatta…
You will deliver exceptional customer experiences to achieve Council’s strategic objectives and vision for the City of Parramatta as Sydney’s Central City. Casual Library officers contributes to positive customer experience by actively providing service delivery by working as a team member and communicating effectively with customers.
Council’s library services are delivered across a network of 7 Libraries including 5/7PS the community, cultural and civic heart of Parramatta Square.
Libraries are open across a wide spread of hours including 7-days a week at some sites. This customer experience is available to everyone who lives, works, studies, visits and plays in our City.
The Library Officer will work as part of a team and is responsible for delivering high quality day to day customer experience services, plans and programs, and use every customer interaction as an opportunity to build positive connections with the City of Parramatta
The successful candidate should have:
- Completion of an ALIA (Australian Library Industry Association) accredited Course (or eligible for membership of ALIA) or relevant experience
- Outstanding proactive customer service
- Experience in delivering customer programs
- Demonstrated team skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to travel and work across Parramatta Library Branch Network
- Understanding of current information technology including various hardware and software and STEAM applications
- Working with Children’s Check

What’s on offer
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $37.68 to $44.49 plus 25% casual loading and 10% super.
