This position is classified as a PACS Band 6 ($80,197 – 85,986 p.a) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

What’s On Offer
An exciting and rewarding opportunity exists for a Local History Officer to join our renowned and high performing Library Services team at the City of Kwinana. This is a part-time position reporting to the Coordinator Library Services and working alongside a superstar team. The primary focus of a Local History Officer is to develop and manage the Local History Collection and assist both internal and external stakeholders to access local history and heritage information and resources.

What You’ll Need
To make an impact as our new Local History Officer you will have…

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to establish, maintain and develop a local history collection.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to provide exceptional customer service and clearly convey messages to a diverse community.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and lead volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to coordinate and promote events.
  • Tertiary qualifications in library and information Studies, archival studies or a related field and/or substantial experience in a similar related role.
  • Current Police Clearance and Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to work after hours or on weekends as needed.
