City of Darwin has a permanent full-time opportunity for a qualified and experienced (Senior) Coordinator Library Operations and Customer Experience to join our Library & Family Services team!

  • Base salary $104,792.18 - $114,675.03 per year plus 11.5% superannuation
  • Based at Casuarina library - free parking!
  • Working across 4 locations throughout Darwin

About the Opportunity:

As a key member of the Library and Family Service team, this position will be required to coordinate an integrated library service across four service points: Casuarina, Darwin City, Nightcliff, and Karama Libraries. This position will be lead, manage, and motivate the Operations & Customer Experience Team, ensuring that customers are provided with a consistent, proactive and responsive customer service experience.

The successful applicant will act as the ultimate customer advocate, viewing the Library Service through the customer's lens and continually working towards service improvements, impressive outcomes, and value for money.

The successful applicant will be required to use their strong knowledge of community engagement principles and practices and, regularly seek community feedback on the libraries and implement continuous improvements to library spaces and service delivery.

This position will oversee the management of library budgets to ensure the provision of services that meet community needs is required. Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to analyse, investigate, and resolve complex and sensitive issues and where needed escalated complaints to the Executive Manager Library and Family Services.

The successful applicant will be required to source and evaluate grant or other funding opportunities for their viability and oversee the delivery of project or program outcomes delivered through grant funding, including acquittal processes.

About You:

To be considered for this role, you will have:

Level 7

  • Bachelor's degree in Library/Information Services, Business/Operations Management or similar and/or a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a relevant operational leadership role
  • NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre card)
  • Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Records Check

Level 8

  • Bachelor's degree in Library/Information Services, Business/Operations Management or similar
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a relevant operational leadership role
  • NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre card)
  • Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Records Check

This position has a base salary of $104,792.18 - $114,675.03 per year, negotiable based on pre-requisites, plus 11.5% superannuation. The City of Darwin also offers six (6) weeks of annual leave and fifteen (15) days of personal leave per year.
