  • Moreton Bay Regional Council currently has 4 Trainee Library Assistant opportunities 
  • Appointment will be for the duration of the traineeship, anticipated 18 months
  • This position requires the successful applicant to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours

The role

You will be responsible for providing providing library customers with positive service experiences whilst undertaking the requirements of the training program.  You will assist the public with navigating library catalogues and the internet, using computers and self-service options, and process routine customer loans, returns, reservation requests and payments. 


To be successful in this role you will have a genuine interest in working in a community library and the aptitude and ability to complete a Certificate III in Library and Information Services.  You will have experience within a customer focused environment and the computer and interpersonal skills to keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and provide quality, friendly service to a wide range of patrons. 


This role with Council offers excellent working conditions, generous employer funded superannuation benefits (up to 12%) and a 9 day fortnight in addition to four weeks paid annual leave per year.

Council’s work locations have local parking.

Work Location

Please note staff may be required to transfer to any of council's work locations with notice. Council currently has libraries located at Albany Creek, Arana Hills, Bribie Island, Burpengary, Caboolture, Deception Bay, North Lakes, Redcliffe, Strathpine, Woodford and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
