Manager, Library Services

The Barossa Council is seeking an innovative, critical thinking, people centred leader to fulfil the role of Manager, Library Services. The successful applicant will empower and invest in staff to build and deliver contemporary library services to the Barossa Community. In addition to enhancing Council’s library and heritage services, this is an exciting opportunity to fuse your passion for libraries, empathic nature and collaborative approach to successfully create, drive and implement library strategy.
To be successful in this role you will require:
- Proven and successful experience as a people Manager, with the capacity to provide transparent and constructive communication and apply best practice to day-to-day staff management.
- Knowledge, prior experience and current qualifications in a library, technical services and customer service delivery environment.
- Well-developed strategic management skills with an up to date knowledge of standards and guidelines in the library and technical services area.
- Strong cultural development and team building skills with the ability to guide and empower staff through continuous improvement and change initiatives.
This position offers an opportunity to join a progressive organisation where your contribution will be recognised and valued. This position is offered as a full time, 2 year, Fixed Term Contract at General Officer Level 6, in accordance with The Barossa Council Enterprise Agreement 2019.
