Nowra Library are looking to fill the below vacancies!

  1. Library Assistant – Outreach Services (Part-Time) – Home Library
  2. Library Assistant – Outreach Services (Full-Time) – Digital Team
  3. Library Technician – Children & Youth (Full-Time)

1: Library Assistant – Outreach Services (Part-Time) – Home Library

Salary: $55,466 - $62,352 (pro rata) p.a. plus 11% Super

This is a permanentpart-time position working 21 hours per week. The hours are 11 am – 7 pm every Wednesday and Thursday, 9 am – 5 pm Friday, and every second Saturday. This position is located at the Nowra Library.

  • Duties

Reporting directly to the Outreach & Digital Services Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Work as part of the Branch team to provide a high standard of customer service and a safe working environment.
  • Complete all Circulation duties and undertake an equal share of tasks.
  • Prepare promotional materials for events and programs using graphic design software.
  • Assist clients with Information enquiries, referring complex enquiries appropriately, public access technology and equipment, and access to Council services and facilities.
  • Conduct financial transactions as required using cash register.
  • Conduct opening and closing of the facility in accordance with Council procedures.
  • Collect relevant statistics in accordance with the Branch’s standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Assist the Outreach and Digital Resources Manager as required.
  • Skills & Experience

To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • HSC or equivalent
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Library services experience
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship

2: Library Assistant – Outreach Services (Full-Time) – Digital Team

Salary: $55,466 - $62,352 p.a. plus 11% Super

This is a permanentfull-time Monday to Friday position working 35 hours per week. The hours are 11 am – 7 pm Monday, and 9 am – 5 pm Tuesday to Friday. This position is located at the Nowra Library.

  • Duties

3: Library Technician – Children & Youth (Full-Time)

Salary: $62,233 - $69,950 p.a. plus 11% Super

This is a permanentfull-time position working 35 hours per week. The hours are 11 am – 7 pm Wednesday, and 9 am – 5 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. This position is located at the Nowra Library.

  • Duties

Reporting directly to the Customer & Community Resources Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate technology, recreation and education programs for children and young adults.
  • Develop and implement a program of displays and events that reflect the interests of young people.
  • Develop and foster partnerships and networks with children and young adult agencies, community organisations and schools.
  • Raise awareness amongst children, young adults and their families, schools and community groups about resources and services available to them through the library service.
  • Assess, develop, and maintain collections appropriate for children and young adults.
  • Assist in developing a range of programs, events and activities for children and young adult library users.
  • Skills & Experience
  • Diploma of Library and Information Science or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children and young adult groups or services.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing programs for children and young adults.
  • Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
