Children’s Services Officer

Located at: Croydon Library

  • Classification: Band 4  Level A-D $73,281 – $79,619 (Dependent on skills and experience) 
    Conditions: Permanent, Part time  – 23.5 hours average per week including 1 in 3 rostered Saturdays (Knox)
  • 12% Superannuation

Roster:

  • Tuesday 8.45am – 5.15pm 7.75 hours
  • Wednesday 8.45am – 5.15pm 7.75 hours
  • Thursday 12pm – 8pm 7.25 hours
  • Saturday (1 in 3) Knox 9:45am – 12noon + OT 2.25 hours

We’re seeking someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, and love working with children.

As a Children’s Services Officer, you will play a key role in delivering engaging programs and services that inspire a love of reading and learning in children and their families. You’ll be part of a supportive team that values creativity, inclusion, and innovation. 

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver vibrant and interactive storytime sessions featuring reading, rhyme, music, and movement.
  • Plan and support outreach events, festivals, and STEAM-based programs that spark curiosity and creativity.
  • Curate and promote children’s collections that reflect the diversity and interests of our communities.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, schools, and local organisations to support early literacy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in a welcoming, self-service library environment.
  • Act as Officer-in-Charge when required, ensuring smooth branch operations and a safe space for all.

A current Working with Children Check is required (or willingness to obtain).
