Library Services Officer

Deliver outstanding customer service and library programs to the community in this part time position as a Library Services Officer.

  • Permanent Part Time | 45 hours per fortnight | Wanneroo Library
  • Salary from $73,851 to $77,818 per annum (pro rata), plus superannuation

About the position

The city is seeking an experienced customer service professional with strong knowledge and expertise in information systems and technology.  As a collaborative member of the Library Services team the position contributes to the smooth operation of the library by ensuring great outcomes for our customers.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering excellent customer service to the community;
  • Delivering a wide variety of library programs to the community;
  • Responding to a wide range of customer information needs and requests;
  • Supporting delivery of outreach services such as delivery of homebound services;
  • Adherence to City and service unit systems and processes; and
  • Accurate cash handling, record keeping and time management.

About you

We are seeking an experienced customer service professional with strong knowledge and expertise in information systems and technology. As a collaborative member of the Library Services team the position contributes to the smooth operation of the library.

Our ideal candidate will be an adaptable and experienced customer service professional, passionate about delivering high quality service outcomes to the community. You will thrive working in a dynamic organisation and be able to work successfully alone in collaboration with others.

Previous experience working in a library is not an essential requirement; however, you will have a good understanding of digital platforms and can provide technical assistance and education to others.  

As such, you will be able to demonstrate through your resume and covering letter that you meet the following capabilities:

  1. Relevant experience in a similar customer service role;
  2. Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment;
  3. Ability to communicate with and serve all customers with skill and enthusiasm;
  4. Ability to assist with the creation of programs and be responsible for the delivery of programs in the library; and
  5. Ability to troubleshoot issues and educate customers on a wide range of technical and digital applications associated with library services,
