An opportunity for an energetic, imaginative, and well-organised person to create, promote, and deliver a range of library programs and events aimed at addressing community needs and encouraging social connection.

We are seeking a self-motivated, highly organised, and vibrant individual who thrives on building the profile of our Council’s library branches through promoting our library services, building, and coordinating programs and events and leading and inspiring library team members, all whilst enjoying the year-round magazine-worthy views of the Barossa Valley region.

In this role, you will develop and coordinate a range of innovative and informative programs and events that facilitate lifelong learning, promote health and wellbeing, encourage creativity and provide opportunity for social connection within our community. Your creative flair will enable you to produce eye-catching and informative content for marketing these Library programs and events. To be successful in this position, your clear and logical thinking, high-level communication skills, proactive and customer centric nature coupled with your ability to lead a small team will be fundamental.

To be successful you will need:

  • Relevant experience in the coordination and delivery of a wide range events and/or programming in a library or similar environment.
  • Desire to step into or experience in providing day to day leadership and supervision of library activities and the ability to manage staff with empathy, professionalism, pragmatism, and innovation.
  • A passion for customer service excellence coupled with highly developed communication skills.
  • A friendly and approachable nature, proactive personality and passion for building and delivering successful and contemporary library programs and events.
  • A growth mindset approach to learning new skills and an interest and ability to stay up to date with digital technology.

Join a progressive & flexible organisation in this opportunity to influence change and be valued for your contribution. This is a 3 days per week 0.63FTE + one 3-hour monthly weekend shift, 12 month fixed-term contract offered at General Officer Level 3 under our Enterprise Agreement 2022. We are open to flexible work options and alternative work arrangements for the right candidate. There is potential for future employment opportunities subject to funding allocations.
